We are so grateful for the beauty that surrounds our happy family here at Noble Homestead. The snow kept a pretty cover over our oh-so-many projects but we are looking forward to getting out the Spring To-do list and getting some things checked off! We’re planning the year’s projects and endeavors. We decanted all tinctures and put up all forages and are getting ready for the next.
Last year was a huge surprise for us and probably all of you. While helping people take a break and escape from it all, and nourishing their souls through their senses and sometimes their bellies, we found our calling. We are farming Happy Experiences, veggies and herbs, organic eggs, edible flowers, and sharing healthy information. It was so much fun sharing it with SO MANY good people and their friends and families!
Last year ended up being pretty amazing despite what was going on outside our little piece of paradise here in Upstate NY. We had started with one Tentrr camp, and ended up with three separate and different camping facilities and happy campers all around! The Magic Glamp was booked all summer and into late fall, and it’s booking up again for the coming season. We had fun helping more than a few friends, families, lovers, and their dogs celebrate special occasions, birthdays, each other, and nature. The Mellow Submarine proved to be a GROOVY spot in it’s infancy, with international travelers from three different continents safely enjoying each others’ company with a few songs in the moonlight. The Perfect Pitch tent site became a well-loved destination spot for quite a few families, lovers and their doggies, too! We had so much fun learning from like-minded people who needed the fresh air and sunlight to feel like themselves (or better!) again. And of course, we LOVED making all those Brekkie Baskets and delivering them to happy hungry smiles at the camps!
Here are some of the upgrades planned for this year’s camping season. These are plans, and we are hoping to exceed them, but don’t hold us to them, and just act pleasantly surprised 🙂
- All the camps have gotten a nice big safe fire ring for the ground campfires.
- All the camps will have a covered table area for eating.
- All the camps will have gravity-fed water catchment systems for washing water, and w 4 times as much water available!
- All the camps will have an herb garden, tomatoes, and edible flowers for free use. Carrot buckets will be available for $15 at our camp store (if the carrots are ready). You will have at least ten to unearth in a bucket, organic and ready to eat!
The Magic Glamp is getting a new homestead-built gravity-fed shower, and a we’re hoping for a permanent cover on the kitchen. There will be HUGE garden upgrades, including a trellis that doubles as a shade structure. We will upgrade the washing center, and this will also be attached to the gravity-fed water tank. There will also be another picnic table in the field for use as well.
We KNOW, it’s supposed to be “roughing it,” but The Perfect Pitch will get a covered eating area built against the LooShower house. It is also getting a new garden. It’s a great spot to stretch out and breathe for just a hundred bucks!
The Mellow Submarine will get it’s own 12×10 deck and we’re hoping to finish some fun new renovations in the cute little 1994 Sunline 15′ camper.
We have built a 7 x 12 foot loo facility and there’s a reason why it’s so big… At first, we had considered making a spa bathroom, but then thought further, to those who might not be able to get out and away from everything to relax right now. A light bulb went off! We are hoping to make the whole camp (minus the tiny camper, of course) accessible to those who are differently abled! This means that some (hopefully most) persons with disabilities can still use the camp, deck, and loo facilities at The Mellow Submarine Camp! In addition to bringing your own tent to pitch on the grounds, or renting one of ours, the deck will have an appropriate ramp, space to turn, and rails, so you may have your tent on the deck. The bathroom facility is wide enough for the maneuvering of wheelchairs or additional assistants that may be required in the stall. The sink will be at an appropriate height for most users, and have enough space underneath for knees if need be, and all handles will be bar-shaped to allow for easier use for all. It’s an easy camp to get to with a van and there’s ample parking. We will be working on a few paved or decked paths to allow for wheelchair adventuring through the field amongst the wildflowers. We’re also planting a sensory garden (suggestions welcome on this).
These are just a few of Vicki’s brainstorms and there’s plenty more to come.
Some dreams of hers:
- A REAL flower farm
- Weddings!
- Hot Air Balloon rides
- Zipline!
- A spa where you can have floral essence baths under blue skies or stars
- Mini Golf!
- Goat Yoga
- A frog pond with solar fountain
- “Chicken TV” at each camp
- Hummingbird feeding!
- SO MANY MORE… and we take suggestions seriously… SERIOUSLY! What are YOUR ideas and dreams for Noble Homestead and Camps?
As always, thanks for visiting and sharing the journey with us. Now that the weather is getting nicer we will be getting out there to put many of Vicki’s awesome ideas into effect as quickly as possible, and we will certainly share our progress. We love your feedback, questions, and suggestions so, please, keep them coming! 🙂
You guys have been super busy! Everything looks amazing!
